Palayamkottai parliamentary constituency is an urban constituency in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu state and falls under Tirunelveli Lok Sabha. It is known for its educational institutions, mission hospital and proximity to the Nerai river, supporting trade, services and peri-urban agriculture. As of March 2026, DMK’s Abdul Wahab M, the sitting MLA, had defeated AIADMK’s Gerald (36,976 votes) in 2021 with 89,117 votes (55.32% vote share), a huge lead of 52,141 votes (57.76% vote share), with no subsequent changes reported.
