Jammu: Border Security Force (BSF) troops on Wednesday detained a Pakistani intruder along the international border in Ramgarh area of ​​J&K’s Samba district. Later in the day, Kathua Senior Superintendent of Police Mohita Sharma conducted an extensive security review and inspection of the Kathua border area.Officials said Border Security Force personnel spotted a suspect near the Baler border post in Ramgarh. “The Pakistani national surrendered after being questioned and preliminary interrogation revealed that he crossed the border unintentionally,” an official said, adding that no incriminating evidence was found on him.Officials said the matter is being investigated for further action.Meanwhile, Kathua Senior Superintendent of Police Mohita Sharma conducted an extensive review of the border areas to enhance security and security in the area. Accompanied by senior police officials, she inspected the Border Police post, nursery and adjacent areas in Kathua.The SSP reviewed the existing security grid and assessed ground readiness to ensure effective coordination among various agencies deployed along the border. Sharma stressed on strengthening the surveillance mechanism and directed the installation of CCTV cameras at all border police posts and naka points to enhance real-time surveillance.Thereafter, police patrolled the Haria Chak nursery area, which is considered sensitive from a security point of view. On-site instructions were issued to conduct frequent and thorough searches of the nursery area for the presence or activity of the suspect. The SSP also emphasized the need to maintain close coordination with residents to ensure timely flow of information.
