Pakistan gang rape case: Four arrested for assaulting two foreign women, relatives of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar
Pakistani police have arrested four men, including relatives of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, for allegedly gang-raping two foreign women in Lahore.The suspects Mohammad Raza Dar, Hasan Raza, Sikandar Khan and Sajid Ali appeared before a Lahore court on Friday and the police remanded them in five-day custody. A fifth suspect remains at large and police said efforts are underway to apprehend him.According to police, the main accused Mohammad Raza Dar is related to Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. A police officer said that due to the sensitivity of the case, investigations are being carried out from all angles.The two women, one from the Netherlands and the other from Venezuela, were allegedly abducted and gang-raped upon arriving in Lahore on June 29. They were rescued after police received a call from the victim’s father, who was from Spain.A case has been registered under the Pakistan Penal Code section dealing with kidnapping and gang rape.The women told investigators they met Raza Dar in Singapore in October 2025, where they became involved in the cryptocurrency business, police said. Raza Dar then invited them to Pakistan and arranged business visas for them.According to the victims’ statements, they were abducted soon after arriving in Lahore and taken to a house where they were allegedly gang-raped. They also claimed that the accused demanded ransom for their release.A court official said that when the four accused were brought before the magistrate, the victim identified Mohammad Raza Dar as the main suspect.Police said the investigation continues.(Inputs from PTI)
