Donald Trump has contacted Savannah Guthrie
Trump had previously reached out to Savannah to offer support in the search for her mother. According to NBC News, the US president expressed sympathy for the family and promised to use all available federal resources to investigate.
Trump’s call to Savannah came shortly after his interview with NBC reporter Tom Lamas at the White House. “Following our interview, the President called and spoke with Savannah Guthrie to express his support for her and her family,” Lamas said in a special report.
Trump called the situation “terrible” before speaking with Savannah. “I think it’s a terrible thing,” he told reporters in the Oval Office after signing legislation to end the partial government shutdown, The Hill reported. “Savannah and I have always gotten along great. It’s a very unusual situation, but we’ll find out.”
Asked if he would commit to sending more federal agents to help find Nancy, Trump responded: “Of course.”
