About Birla India has established parliamentary friendship groups with more than 60 countries to promote “inter-parliamentary engagement between India and the world,” the Lok Sabha secretariat announced on Monday.“Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has established parliamentary friendship groups with more than 60 countries, which is an important step in expanding parliamentary engagement between India and the world,” ANI quoted the secretariat as saying.Talking about its significance, it added: “The move reflects the Indian Parliament’s conscious intention to deepen dialogue and exchanges with legislative bodies across continents and complement traditional diplomacy with ongoing parliamentary interaction.”
