Our country’s national security requires it!”Earlier in the day, a gunman opened fire at a security checkpoint near the White House, sparking panic in the area and prompting a swift response from federal security agencies.The suspect, Nasire Best, was shot dead on the spot by Secret Service agents near the presidential palace. Best reportedly claimed to be Jesus Christ before the shooting.Best was spotted pacing suspiciously near Northwest 17th Street before allegedly pulling out a revolver and firing multiple shots at police stationed near a checkpoint, the New York Post reported.The shooting occurred as U.S. President Donald Trump was conducting diplomatic discussions at the White House about Iran and a proposed peace framework involving several Middle Eastern countries.
