Official identification is still pending, but Ledbetter said the recovery “does fit” the description of Ocean Springs, mississippi as a teenager, according to the New York Post.

Incident Commander Josh Gill said they were focusing on Wells’ last known location on the east end of Horn Island. Gill told Nola.com that Wells was last seen “with a girl.”

After “an extensive search involving countless volunteers from the Cajun Combine, first responders, local law enforcement, the U.S. Coast Guard and organizations across the region, our worst fears came true,” the page said.
It added, “While no words can ease the pain of this unimaginable loss, we are deeply grateful to everyone who has searched, prayed, shared his story, and stood by our family during these difficult days. As we begin the painful journey of laying Nolan to rest, we ask for help in easing the financial burden on our family. Funds raised will be used for funeral and memorial expenses, a celebration of life service, and any additional expenses associated with honoring Nolan. Any remaining funds will be used to support the family through the difficult days ahead together.”
In memory of Wells, a GoFundMe wrote: “Always loved. Always remembered. Never forgotten.”
As of this writing, $49,205 of the $65,000 goal has been raised.
