Nearly 101 acres of land use changed in Central Vista area | India News

New Delhi: The government has changed the use of around 101 acres of land in Central Vista area for construction of government offices and official residences, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs informed the Lok Sabha on Thursday. It also said 2,994 trees had been cut down or transplanted for the Central Vista redevelopment project.In a written reply, the ministry said the land use of the 15-acre Plot No. 1 on Church Road near DTC Central Secretariat Bus Terminal has been changed from “Transport (Bus Terminal/Car Parking), Government (Presidential Palace and Parliament House) and Recreation (Neighborhood Recreation Area)” to “Residential”. The Vice President’s enclave has become involved in the conspiracy.Similarly, the land use of the 9.5-acre plot No. 2 located opposite the Parliament House has been changed from “Recreation (Regional Park)” to “Government (Parliament House)” and the land use of the 7.7-acre plot located south of Dr Rajendra Prasad Road and the National Archives has been changed from “Public and Semi-Public Facility” to “Government Offices and Recreation (Regional Park)”.Plot No. 4, located south of Dr Rajendra Prasad Road and east of Janpath, covers an area of ​​24.7 acres and the land use has been changed from “Public and Semi-Public Facilities” to “Government Offices”. Plot No. 5, located east of Maan Singh Road and south of Ashoka Road, covers an area of ​​4.5 acres. The land use has been changed from “Public and Semi-Public Facilities” to “Government Office Buildings”.The land use of the 24.7-acre plot No. 6, located north of Maulana Azad Road and east of Janpath, has been changed from “Public and Semi-Public Facilities” to “Government Offices and Recreation (Regional Park)”. The ministry said the land use of the 15-acre Lot 7, located north of Dalhousie Road and near South Block, has been changed from “Government Offices and Recreation (Neighborhood Recreation Area)” to “Residential.” The new prime minister’s official residence is about to be built on the site.
