Nancy Guthrie’s friends reveal surprising ways Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni relied on 84-year-old

Although there are currently no suspects in the case, much speculation has been directed at the daughter Anneand son-in-law Tommaso. The two of them lived near Guthrie’s home in the Catalina Foothills of Tucson, Arizona. The octogenarian is believed to have dined with Anne on the night she was taken away. After dinner, Tommaso reportedly drove her home, making the two of them the last people to see her before she disappeared.

Former NewsNation reporter Ashleigh Banfield also reported that Tommaso was a possible suspect in the case, sparking more interest in the son-in-law. However, much time has passed and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department has not only refuted these claims, but Sheriff Chris Nanos himself has announced that none of the Guthrie family members are suspects.

Anne’s sister and “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie also defended them amid the speculation surrounding Anne and Tommaso. She noted that they both love Guthrie and blasted the rumors surrounding them. Former FBI officer Jennifer Coffindaffer, who has been sharing her insights into the case, also noted that Anne and Tommaso were likely Guthrie’s primary helpers because they lived closest to each other. It’s worth noting that Savannah flew from New York after the kidnapping, and brother Camron also came to Tucson, suggesting he wasn’t always nearby for help.

However, as Guthrie’s friend Mary Ann Blevins revealed, help wasn’t just a one-way street. The 86-year-old woman was a longtime friend of Guthrie’s and a member of the book club. Page Six reported her conversation on February 4, days after Guthrie disappeared.

So Guthrie would help her daughter and son-in-law pick up the baby and take care of him while their parents were busy. This will save you the hassle of retaining a nanny for a specific time. It is worth noting that Tommaso was a teacher and Anne was a poet and jeweler. According to Blevins’ explanation, as working parents, there may be times when they need to get out of the house, and that’s when Guthrie will likely step in to help with childcare.

Beyond that, Guthrie’s friends have nothing but praise for her. “Anyone who knew her and met her loved her,” Blevins said, adding, “I don’t think she had any enemies, and that’s why the whole thing was so scary.”
