But interest in the case is far from waning. Savannah Guthrie’s fame as host of the Today Show, and the mystery surrounding her disappearance, ensured that the case remained closely watched by many, albeit mostly out of sight.

Recently, a former FBI Agents develop a theory about Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance, suggesting an easier way to unlock the whodunit.

Former FBI agent suggests new approach

Former FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer streams her thoughts and analysis of hot-button criminal cases, and she talks about the Nancy Guthrie case from a new perspective.

on her monday Streaming on XCoffindaffer uncovered some less-than-flattering details in an alleged ransom note received by news outlet TMZ. A total of three ransom notes were received demanding payment in Bitcoin, but no action was taken as the senders could not provide proof of Nancy Guthrie’s life.

Coffendaver claims ransom note Potentially key evidence, the details of which could be key to the investigation, in addition to the ransom demand itself. She believes the alleged scriptures and quotes in the notes may indicate the suspect has a God complex.

“It occurred to me, are there any religious writings in the notebook?” Coffindafer said. “Are there references in the Bible? Did they quote scripture? What did they say that was religious?

“I think there might have been religious quotes, or scripture references, that would have caused the behavioral analysis unit and Guthrie to use the whole ‘it’s never too late’ thing.”

Doubt you have a God complex?

Coffendaver then questioned whether the suspect did indeed have a God complex. A God complex is the belief that one person is superior to other people and has near-absolute power or control.

“I’ve been looking back at some of the things the Guthries said, including Savannah’s interview with Hoda (Kotb), and I’ve been wondering if this man saw himself in a God-like way,” she continued. “Playing God: They have control over Nancy’s life.

“As for Savannah, Annie and Camren’s lives, as long as they can be heard by the suspects. So, do they have more of a God complex?” she added.
