Trump reacts to Nancy Guthrie ransom news

President Trump said he wants law enforcement to find Savannah Guthrie’s mother Nancy, noting the NBC News anchor and her family have been through “hell.”

“I hope they find her,” he told reporters after arriving in Pennsylvania to give a speech. “That family has been through hell. I hope they find her,” New York Post.

Trump’s comments followed new reports that Nancy Guthrie’s kidnappers sent a ransom note claiming she was dead. The president has expressed sympathy for the Guthrie family from the beginning and reached out to the NBC News star shortly after her mother’s disappearance in February to offer his support and federal resources.

Trump told the New York Post in February that if Nancy Guthrie was found dead, the kidnappers would face “very, very serious — the most serious” federal consequences. He said they could be sentenced to death.

What the ransom note revealed

On Tuesday, new details emerged about two notes Nancy sent to the Guthrie family shortly after she disappeared on February 1. According to reports, the first source said that Guthrie was safe, but the second source said that Guthrie, who suffered from heart disease, had died and was buried in nature.

The first note demanded millions of dollars in Bitcoin to free her, while the second claimed she was dead. British Broadcasting Corporation. The second note also reportedly said her death was unintentional and apologized to her family.

Savannah Guthrie breaks down

Savannah Guthrie She broke down in tears during a live appearance on the “Today” show Tuesday morning after the ransom note was reported.

“I have no comment on this story, I’m not involved in our coverage, but I can’t pretend I’m not here,” she said. According to the New York Post, “We are in pain and we cannot calm down. No matter how hard I try every day to get here, smile and find joy, I will, I promise I will… Now is the time to tell you that we need your help, we are asking for your help, and I will not miss this opportunity.”

Nancy disappeared from her home in Tucson, Arizona Since February 1, there has been no breakthrough in the case. Nearly five months after her disappearance, she remains missing with no known suspects and no leads from investigators.
