Investigators are currently focusing on a nearby property that was abandoned shortly before Guthrie disappeared, NewsNation reporter Brian Entin reported.
Entin, who has been reporting in the area for weeks, said agents are not suggesting the vacant home is directly related to the crime. Rather, it appears to be one of multiple avenues of investigation being explored as the investigation progresses.
“I have confirmed through sources that the FBI has returned Nancy Guthrie’s Over the last 24 hours or so, we’ve surveyed the neighbors, gone back to the neighbors’ homes and asked more questions,” Entin said on his podcast Brian Entin Investigates .
“There was a neighbor who moved away before Nancy disappeared and they’ve been asking more questions about the situation. Not that it has anything to do with what happened, but that’s what the FBI agents are asking about.”
Authorities are also questioning locals about other homes being built and asking for the names of contractors and employees who worked in the area in the days and weeks before Guthrie disappeared, according to Entin.
“Investigators are looking for specific details rather than general information, which suggests they are trying to track activity in the neighborhood,” Entin continued.
“I’m talking about details like that, like they wanted the names of all the contractors and workers who were working on these homes. I saw the construction while I was there, just driving around. There were several homes under construction in the area. So to me, that was an interesting new nugget.”
