She was born in Hyderabad, India, and moved to the United States with her family when she was two years old. She grew up in North Brunswick, New Jersey, where she graduated from high school in 1985. Ms. Nala holds a bachelor’s degree in Foreign Service and a juris doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center.Prior to his appointment to the New Jersey Transportation Commission, Narra worked as a public defender at the Legal Aid Society of New York City, where he tried criminal cases and held union leadership positions. She was also the first South Asian freeholder in New Jersey.The New Jersey Transportation Operations and Customer Service Committee held its regularly scheduled meeting on Friday. The meeting, which was broadcast live, included discussions of operational matters and customer service issues, according to NJ Transit’s official website.
