In the T20 World Cup semi-finals at Wankhede, India defeated England with a score of 253/7, mainly due to Sanju Samson’s brilliant batting. The wicketkeeper-batsman struck 89 off just 42 balls, hitting 8 fours and 7 sixes, having scored an unbeaten 97 in the last game. He formed a strong partnership with Ishan Kishan (39 off 18) and Shivam Dube (43 off 25) to put England’s bowlers under pressure early in the innings.
