‘Murder’: TVK, BJP target DMK after woman allegedly committed suicide over election freebies

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Aadhav Arjuna on Thursday condemned the death of a 25-year-old Dalit woman in Tiruchirappalli, saying it was “forced”. murder” and demanded a CBI probe as political resistance to the bill intensifies DMK about the event.“This is a deeply disturbing case that raises serious concerns for the safety and dignity of women,” TVK campaign management secretary Arjuna, a candidate from Villivakkam, told ANI. “This is not suicide, this is forced murder.”Arjuna claimed that Chief Minister and Deputy Minister MK Stalin pressured the Trichy police to delete the official statement regarding the case.“We question why information related to the case, including official police statements, was reportedly removed. If such action takes place, it would raise concerns about transparency and it was done because of the pressure exerted on the Trichy police station by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and DyCM Udayanidhi Stalin,” he said.“We will file a CBI case in the High Court in the Sinduja case,” Arjuna added, announcing plans to approach Delhi’s Chief Election Commissioner.Arjuna accused the state government of ignoring the woman’s complaint and alleged that DMK cadres attacked her.“Sindhuja belongs to a different caste. She is not an OBC or a BC. The DMK has always been against Dalits. The DMK office bearers completely ignored her and used unparliamentary language to attack Sindhuja. Initially, the DMK union secretary attacked Sindhuja,” he said.“We are ashamed. In Tamil Nadu, no actors and senior leaders have spoken about the Sindhuja murder case. We want justice. The Income Tax and Education Departments remain silent and have not initiated any action,” he added. Also read: Tamil Nadu woman attacked by DMK workers over gifts and committed suicide

Annamalai said DMK supporters “attacked” the woman and used “obscene language”.

Arjuna objects to the so-called distribution of money

Arjuna also objected to allegations of distribution of money during elections, saying he would lodge a complaint with Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik.“Attempts to influence elections through money power will not succeed.
