‘Mujhe bhool gye kya?’: Priya Saroj teases Rinku Singh at airport

New Delhi: Members of the Indian team that won the 2026 T20 World Cup are returning home. India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.Linku SinghThe member of the championship-winning Indian team arrived at the airport with his fiancée Priya Saroj. Upon arrival, he walked ahead to greet and hug his friends who had gathered outside the airport to welcome him, temporarily leaving Priya behind.

Seeing Rinku walking in front, Priya said jokingly: “mujhe bhool gye kya?”. Rinku smiled, walked back, put his arms around Priya’s shoulders, and continued to meet his friends.Rinku got engaged to politician Priya Saroj on June 8.The cricketer also paid his heartfelt condolences to his late father Khanchand Singh, who passed away in Greater Noida on February 27 after a long illness.Rinku attended his father’s funeral after India’s 2026 T20 World Cup Super 8 match against Zimbabwe before rejoining the team in Kolkata for the crucial must-win Super 8 match against West Indies.In a heartfelt post after India won the 2026 T20 World Cup, Rinku said that even a day without speaking to his father would make him feel incomplete and it would be difficult for him to imagine a future life without him.“I have never spent so many days without talking to you. I don’t know how life will go without you…but I know I need you every step of the way,” he wrote in a post on Instagram. “You always taught me that responsibility comes first, so on the court I just wanted to fulfill your dream. Now that your dream has come true… I just wish you could be with me. In every happy moment big and small, I will feel your absence. I will miss you so much, Dad,”Rinku, meanwhile, played only 5 games for India in the T20 World Cup and his run-taking performance was poor, scoring only 24 runs in total, including one against South Africa at the Narendra Modi Stadium in the Super 8 stage.After the loss to the Proteas, Rinku was dropped and Sanju Samson replaced him in the starting XI. The move proved beneficial as Samson notched back-to-back wins in the Super Eights, semi-finals and final.
