Audio from the scanner report states, “Radio traffic reported multiple victims with gunshot wounds near Hale Avenue, with initial estimates of two to four people shot. One victim was reportedly leaning against a fence in a field with a gunshot wound to his right side near his ribs. The incident was reported to have begun as a disturbance involving an intoxicated individual throwing beer bottles, and units were assembled at Tilton and Hale while additional victims were searched.” HT.com cannot independently verify this information.
It’s worth noting that the Morgan Hill Police Department has yet to officially comment on the matter. Official details about the person who was shot were not immediately available, nor was a description of the suspect.
Meanwhile, a user posted reports of the shooting on Facebook. “The shooting of Pearl nearly… Multiple people reported being shot after a disturbance near Hale Ave,” they wrote.

Diana Morgan Hill and Hiram Morgan Hill originally built a ranch when the area was known as Huntington. That was in 1886, and the name was eventually changed to Morgan Mountain due to many visitors requesting a stop at “Morgan Mountain Ranch.” By 1896, the population had grown to 250 people. After some controversy, it was finally incorporated in 1906.
