Middle East Crisis: Drone attack on UAE’s Fujairah oil region sparks fire, three Indians injured

New Delhi: A drone strike from Iran caused a fire in the Fujairah Oil Industrial Zone (FOIZ) in the United Arab Emirates on Monday, injuring three Indian nationals.Authorities in Fujairah confirmed that the fire was caused by an attack, and state-run WAM news agency said emergency teams were immediately deployed.Civil defense personnel are continuing efforts to control the fire, news agency PTI reported.The three injured Indian nationals suffered moderate injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment, Khaleej Times reported.The Indian Embassy in the UAE said it was closely monitoring the situation. “Three Indian nationals were injured in today’s attack in Fujairah. We are in contact with local authorities to ensure that the affected Indian nationals receive adequate medical care and welfare,” the embassy said in a post on X.Meanwhile, the UAE Defense Ministry said Iran launched four missiles at different parts of the country. “Three of them were successfully engaged over the country’s territorial waters, and one fell into the sea,” the ministry said.Authorities urged residents to follow safety advice and avoid spreading unverified information. Officials urge the public to rely only on official sources for the latest information.The incident comes as regional tensions rise, with attacks and countermeasures raising concerns about the security of critical energy infrastructure in the Gulf.
