Michigan man Daniyal Khan charged with kidnapping 12-year-old girl; child found using Amber Alert

Within an hour of the Amber Alert being issued, a missing 12-year-old girl from Iowa was found safe and a 23-year-old Michigan man was charged with kidnapping.The girl from Waterloo was reported missing Sunday, prompting authorities to activate a statewide Amber Alert, police said. The case moved quickly as investigators tracked the suspect’s vehicle to the town of Coloma, Michigan, nearly 400 miles from the eastern shore of Lake Michigan.Police quickly located the vehicle and found the child inside with the suspect. He was charged with second-degree kidnapping, child molestation and sexual exploitation of a minor.Khan was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Berrien County Jail in Michigan.Police said the Amber Alert played a key role in the child’s speedy recovery.
