Amid bomb threats at Gracie Mansion, new york city A feud erupted on Friday between New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and far-right social media leaders led by Jake Lang.
Long was leading a protest outside Gracie Tower on Saturday when explosives and smoke-generating devices were thrown at protesters. New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said on Sunday that two men, Emil Barat and Ibrahim Qayoumi, were arrested in connection with the incident.
As events unfolded on Sunday, a third person was arrested, 21-year-old Ian McGinnis. Philadelphiafar-right social media has been embroiled in an entirely different war of words.
It started with a post Zoran Mamdani made on his social media shortly after NYPD Commissioner Tisch held a press conference on Sunday. In the post, Mamdani took aim at protest groups associated with Jack Long, calling them “white supremacists.” He also called throwing explosives at protesters a “criminal act” and “antithetical to us.”
Far-right social media accused Mandani of allegedly protecting individuals involved in throwing explosives outside Gracie Tower on New York’s Upper East Side.
