Kolkata: Trinamool Chiefs Mamata BanerjeeBengal Chief Secretary Dushyant Naryala on Monday directed all department heads to ensure that no official document is deleted, damaged or copied without authorization, but her residence in Kolkata’s Kalighat and her office in Nabanna came under an unprecedented security lockdown on Monday.Even before the final results of the assembly elections were announced, central paramilitary forces surrounded Nabana and staged a siege outside the Chief Minister’s official residence in Kalighat and at Trinamool Congress Abhishek Banerjee, national secretary, Monday afternoon.The deployment comes amid celebrations by BJP supporters in parts of Kalighat and amid sporadic reports of tension in the state as trends show the Trinamool Congress party facing a rout.“All department secretaries and office heads must ensure that no important document or any document is removed/damaged or otherwise taken out of the office. Unauthorized copying/scanning will not be allowed. All documents/important documents/communications shall be properly handled. Department heads and department secretaries shall personally ensure that this is adhered to in letter and spirit,” the order from the chief secretary stated.Rapid response teams were deployed at key offices of key government ministries.The electoral commission said the measures were purely precautionary.
