If something went wrong there, it was their failure.”On the Prime Minister’s reference to International Women’s Day while criticizing Bangladesh’s treatment of its female president, Mamata said, “We will celebrate Women’s Day a thousand times. We have been celebrating it since our childhood. You have no right to criticize us.”Sources said Chief Secretary Nandini Chakravorty received a letter from Union Home Minister Govind Mohan seeking explanation for the “violation of protocol” and formally responded that evening.The controversy seems to have united the TMC opposition.
