MUMBAI: Amid growing concerns over ‘digital addiction’ among children and its adverse effects, Maharashtra State Information Technology Minister Ashish Shelar told the Legislative Council on Wednesday that the government has decided to set up an expert working group to study the issue and recommend measures. The task force, which will include members from both houses of the state Legislature, will submit a report before the Legislature’s next session, he said. He also cited a study showing a significant rise in gaming addiction among urban and rural children in Maharashtra.
