Madison tornado: Tornado confirmed in Smyrna, Indiana – Check out damage, path of horrific visuals
one tornado Confirmed in Smyrna and headed to Madison Indiana,Thursday. National Weather Service (NWS) release Tornado warnings for Madison and Hanover and Milton, Indiana kentuckyuntil 4:00 p.m. ET.

Now, WLKY News is reporting that a tornado in Smyrna has been confirmed and is moving toward Madison in Jefferson County. Local TV stations shared a map of the area showing the tornado’s progress, and Carroll County, Kentucky, was also reportedly under a warning.
The extent of the damage caused by the Smyrna tornado is unknown. However, another weather channel shared a map of the area and confirmed the path of the tornado
“Radar confirmed tornado on the ground in Jefferson County, Indiana! Time is 3:21 AM ET! Tornado will move through Smyrna and Hanover,” they noted.
There is also a local radio station issue warning For Madison. “Shelter now! A tornado warning is in effect for Jefferson and Scott counties in Indiana and Trimble County in Kentucky until 4:00 a.m. ET. The National Weather Service says radar near Scottsburg is spinning, moving east at 45 mph. This dangerous storm is expected to hit Madison around 3:25 a.m. ET.”

“Immediate Life Safety Instructions Move immediately: Go to the lowest level of a sturdy building, a basement, a storm cellar, or an interior room (such as a bathroom or closet). Stay away from windows: Put as many walls as possible between you and the outside world. Abandon fragile structures: If you are in a mobile home, outdoors, or in a vehicle, seek the nearest sturdy shelter immediately,” the post added.
“This tornado is moving at night and is not visible. Do not look out or wait for sirens. Avoid flooded roads: This storm is accompanied by heavy rains. Make a U-turn and do not drive through flooded areas. Affected communities Indiana: Madison, Hanover, North Madison, Wakefield, Middlefork, Volga, Kent, Vice City, Bloch and Bryansburg. Kentucky: Bellevue and northwest Trimble County,” the local station also said.
“Critical Storm Details and Safety Background For the latest updates and to track local emergency alerts, monitor the National Weather Service Louisville page directly. If power is out, switch to battery-powered NOAA Weather Radio or a trusted local news broadcast. Protect your head from flying debris with a helmet, blanket or pillow,” the notice concluded.
There is no information yet on damage from the tornado, given that it was night time. However, many people still expressed fear when they heard a tornado occurred nearby.
Madison tornado: Reactions pour in
a local wrote “Tornado confirmed on the ground west of Madison County, Indiana! People in Trimble County, Kentucky seek shelter immediately!” on X. Considering the time of night, not much video of the tornado near Smyrna has circulated.
Several others also shared their experiences. “It was really, really windy in JPG about 10 minutes ago…looking out the window I could see the siding was torn off,” one wrote. Another added: “Just got blown through Kent, I think my trees are damaged.” Another local said: “Please take this seriously. I live on top of a hill in Madison and the siren just went off.”
