CHENNAI: Hotels and restaurants in Tamil Nadu that switch to electric stoves will get a subsidy of Rs 2 for every additional unit of electricity consumed, the government said on Saturday as it rolled out a slew of measures to mitigate the impact of LPG supply disruptions. A meeting chaired by CM MK Stalin also decided that small and medium hoteliers who wish to switch to electric stoves can get 25% subsidized loans up to Rs 3.70 lakh under the Jobless Youth Employment Scheme. Under the Women Entrepreneurship Scheme, women entrepreneurs will be eligible for loans of up to Rs 10 lakh along with 25% subsidy. Moreover, under the Annal Ambedkar Business Champions Scheme, subsidy of up to 35% subject to a ceiling of Rs 1 crore will be extended to eligible industrial units run by SC and ST entrepreneurs.
