DJ Young Slade, the son of rapper Lil Jon, was found dead on Friday after being reported missing earlier this week. His body was recovered from a pond in Milton, Georgia. Police said there were no signs of foul play.

Lil Jon announced his son’s death in a statement to TMZ and expressed his deep sorrow for the loss.

“I am devastated by the tragic death of our son Nathan Smith. His mother Nicole Smith and I are heartbroken. Nathan was the kindest person you could ever meet. He was incredibly caring, considerate, polite, warm and enthusiastic – he loved his family and the friends in his life so much,” he told the outlet.

“He was a talented young man; a music producer, artist and engineer who graduated from New York University. We love Nathan with all our hearts and are incredibly proud of him. He was loved and appreciated, and we take comfort in knowing we showed him that affection during our last time together.”

Lil Jon also thanked the Milton Police Department for their efforts in locating his son.

DJ Young Slade reported missing in Milton GeorgiaHe reportedly ran out of the home on Tuesday. The Milton Police Department issued a missing persons alert, saying he was last seen around 6 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2026, near Baldwin Avenue and Mayfield Road.

Authorities said Slade was believed to be “disoriented and in need of assistance.”

The alert described him as 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds, and noted that he was not carrying a cell phone.
