Labor regulations aimed at improving ease of living and doing business: Survey | India News

NEW DELHI: Nearly two-thirds of workers believe that working conditions will improve with increased break breaks and leave practices once four new labor laws are fully implemented, and expect income security to improve due to wage transparency. A similar proportion of employers believe that the new code will improve the ease of doing business due to streamlined and simplified compliance systems. These are some of the findings of the ‘Perception Survey’ released by the VV Giri National Labor Institute (VVGNLI) on Monday. The survey was conducted after the four labor codes were officially promulgated on November 21. Some 66% of workers believe safety, transportation and surveillance requirements will improve protection for female workers, while 63% believe mandatory safety equipment and protective measures will improve workplace conditions. On social security, 68% of workers welcome e-Shram and welfare boards for easier access to services, and 63% see greater mobility for contract, migrant and gig workers.
