Kota: A man was arrested in Rajasthan’s Kota on Thursday for threatening to shoot Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and 25 other Congress MPs in a video posted online for abusing Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla during the budget session. Raja Singh Amera claims to be the spokesperson of Karni Sena. But the Karni Sena has distanced himself from both the BJP and said he has no formal links with either organization. Birla is the BJP MP from Kota. In the 0.55-second video clip, Amela said he and others would destroy the deputies’ homes and shoot them “one by one.” He also said the government would be held accountable if such acts occurred. Kota SP Tejeshwani Goutam said Amera had come across four cases earlier. The fresh case has been registered under BNS sections 351, 352 and 353 for criminal intimidation, breach of public peace and mischief.
