Joseph Duggar’s cousin, Amy Duggar King, has released two public statements responding to the allegations against him and those against his wife, Kendra Duggar. She focuses on supporting victims and calling for accountability.
In a March 20 statement following Joseph Dugar’s arrest, she said she was “sickened, heartbroken and deeply angry,” adding that her main concern was for the children involved.
“The courage it took for her to come forward … cannot be overstated,” Dag King said. “That courage deserves more respect than anything else.”
She also spoke of a wider culture that could allow abuse to perpetuate, saying that “family relationships should never equate to automatic trust or contact” when it comes to keeping children safe.

Kendra Duggar’s Reaction Changes After Arrest
In a second statement on March 21, the Duggar King said her previous comments were made before she was informed of the incident. Kendra Duggar’s He was arrested later the same day.

“These are serious allegations,” Dag King said. “They’re not the same charges as Joseph’s, but they’re not minor and I wouldn’t treat them as minor.”
She added that she would not speculate on what Kendra knew or her role in the case, saying that should be decided by investigators and the courts. However, she made it clear that her focus had shifted.
“When a person faces criminal charges for child endangerment, my prayers go to … the children,” she said.
Amy also spoke directly to the victims of the Florida case, saying her decision to come forward was courageous.
“I pray that every child who needs a safe adult but doesn’t have one will receive full, complete, and uncompromising justice,” she said.
What charges is Kendra Duggar facing?
Kendra Duggar was arrested on March 20, just days after her husband, Joseph Duggar, was taken into custody.

Joseph was charged with serious offences, including sexual misconduct involving a child under 12 and similar conduct by an adult over 18.
According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.the case began after a detective from the Tondetown Police Department contacted them regarding reports of past sexual abuse.
A 14-year-old girl told authorities about several incidents involving Joseph. She said the incidents occurred during a family vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida, in 2020, when she was 9 years old.
