'I'm not doing very well': UK entrepreneur and Apprentice champion Karishma Vijay opens up about mental health struggles

Indian-born entrepreneur and “Apprentice” winner Karishma Vijay became emotional and appeared to burst into tears as she spoke about her body insecurities and mental health struggles, saying the stress of a life-changing year left her exhausted.Earlier this year, the 29-year-old secured a £250,000 investment from Alan Sugar for her skincare brand Kishkin after winning The Apprentice. Since then, she has moved, expanded her business, gotten engaged and started planning a wedding. In a touching video on Instagram, Karishma admitted that despite her professional success, she neglected her health.“Life may look great on social media, but the honest truth is I’m not doing great,” she said. She describes how to balance content creation, business operations, marketing campaigns, interviews, podcasts, and public appearances while building a company. The entrepreneur says the demands of her career have taken a toll on her physical and mental health.“I was the heaviest I had ever been. My body was my biggest insecurity, but not because of my curves or the number on the scale. It was because I was in my 20s and I was always tired,” she said.Karishma also reflected on a time about a year ago when she felt more confident about her body and fitness journey. She said the pressure of work and personal commitments gradually caused her to lose the healthy habits she had worked hard to establish.“This was my first time showing up in person, and now I’m back to square one,” she said.“With everything going on in my life, I just don’t know if I could do it over again.”Despite her struggles, Karishma said she plans to prioritize her health by returning to the gym, working out regularly and paying more attention to her health. The post sparked an outpouring of support from fans, with many encouraging her to focus on herself.“First please take care of yourself,” one user wrote.Another commented: “Trust me, it’s hard when life is stressful. But now you need to make time for yourself.”
