Juab County Fires: Silver City, Eureka, Mammoth under evacuation notices after Maple Peak and Cherry Fires merge – Watch Video
The Juab County Sheriff’s Office has Already ordered Evacuate Silver City, Eureka and Mammoth immediately, Utah Saturday, June 27th. This happened when Maple Peak and Cherry Fire merged. At the time of writing, Watchduty reports fire The area burned was 12,316 acres.

“Multiple wildfires broke out in central Utah on Friday night, with the Maple Peak Fire merging with the Cherry Fire to total 12,000-15,000 acres and now known as the Cherry Fire. Here’s video of the evacuation from Love Green,” an independent reporter wrote.
They added: “According to officials, heavy fire activity is visible on U.S. Highway 6 in Juab County, with crews battling multiple fires, including the Iron Fire near Eureka, the Highway 36 Fire near Tintic Junction, the Maple Peak Fire west of the U.S. 6 Rest Area, and the Cherry Fire in the Weiss and Cherry Creek areas. With the Maple Peak Fire As the fire spread, officials ordered evacuations around the Vernon Reservoir and Love Green. Tooele County deputies and search and rescue personnel assisted in the evacuation, and displaced residents were directed to a shelter at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Vernon.”

KUTV’s local reporters also shared maps and visuals of the affected areas, writing: “Due to the rapidly spreading Cherry Fire and Iron Fire threatening the City of Eureka, Mammoth City and Silver City, mandatory evacuations are currently ordered in the area. Officials urge everyone to leave immediately if you are in an evacuation zone. The Maple Peak Fire has also merged with the Cherry Fire, creating a larger, more dangerous wildfire.”
“Fires are burning across the state today, and Utah County has now declared a state of emergency, saying wildfires are ‘ravaging our state.’ It’s shaping up to be one of the most dangerous fire weather conditions in Utah in years. Extreme winds, single-digit humidity and dry fuels are allowing multiple fires to spread quickly in just a few hours,” they added.
The reporter further said, “If you live near these fires, please remain vigilant, there are many ways to receive emergency alerts, and be prepared to leave if officials ask you to leave.”
Cherry Fire: Horror video from Juab County
A video showed a large amount of smoke rising into the sky. The person recording the video can be heard saying they have been evacuated and calling the current fire a “monster”.
Camera pictures showed fires on both sides of the road.
“SR-36 is closed from Mile Marker 1 to Mile Marker 20. Please stay away from the area and do not attempt to go around the closed roads. Firefighters will need to open every inch of the road to move engines, bulldozers, water trucks and emergency equipment,” they wrote.
