Joni Lamb, TV executive, co-founder daystar television network Passed away with her late husband Marcus Lamb at the age of 65. The network confirmed her death in a statement released Thursday, revealing that Lamb had been dealing with multiple health issues in recent months, including complications related to a back injury.
While the official cause of death has not been announced, the network shared her health concerns. “Prior to her recent back injury, Lamb had been dealing with serious health issues, which she chose to confront privately. The back injury exacerbated these challenges and resulted in a more serious medical condition than anyone anticipated,” the statement read. “Despite the best efforts of her medical team and the prayers of many around the world, her condition worsened over the past few days.”

Lamb’s husband, Doug Weiss, responded to her death in a touching message on Facebook. “Today, I lost my wife Joni. No words can truly express the weight of these words or the sadness that comes with it. She was deeply loved and the space she left behind is beyond words,” he wrote.

Joni and Marcus Lamb founded Daystar Television Network in 1993, eventually transforming it into one of the largest faith-based television networks in the world.
Following the death of Marcus Lamb in 2021, Joni served as president of the organization and continues to serve as one of the ministry’s public figures. Over the years, she has gained widespread recognition among evangelical audiences through her appearance and leadership role in the network.
In 2023, Lamb married Doug Weiss, who later joined her as co-host of Daystar’s flagship show Ministry Now. The network said that despite Daystar’s death, her show and mission will continue.
In a statement, the organization stressed that the ministry’s direction “will not change today”, adding that tributes in Lamb’s memory will be broadcast in the coming days, while regular broadcasts will continue as planned.
Daystar board members also paid tribute to Lamb in a public statement after news of her death broke.
“Joni’s love for the Lord and the people we serve has shaped this ministry from the beginning,” the board said. “We are saddened by her passing and we are grateful for the legacy of faith she leaves behind.”
Lamb is survived by her husband, Doug, three children, Jonathan, Rachel and Rebecca, and several grandchildren.
