West was diagnosed with autism and reportedly suffered neglect under his previous caregivers. But Des became her legal guardian and looked after him. She shared an update on her life with John and her children.
Her accounts on TikTok and Instagram are called @waxesbydes and have about 700,000 followers each. She mostly posts heartwarming videos about her life, which revolve around two family members.

“I know a lot of people are wondering what ‘natural causes’ means and whether it indicates an underlying health issue,” she wrote in the post. “The answer is yes.
“Many of you who are new here may think that John is just a healthy person with autism, but that is not the case. He has faced a number of serious health challenges over the years. While his health has improved significantly over the past two years, he has long-term health issues.
“One of the problems was a severe tooth infection that had gone untreated for decades, which put a lot of stress on the heart. He also developed blood in the urine and ongoing kidney problems.”
“There’s a lot more to his story than what people see online,” added.
Along with the text, she shared a video in which she said: “It was an accidental death, but he did have a disease. When I say natural causes, you just Google what natural causes means. I can’t sit here and explain it to you, but natural causes means he died of a disease.”
