JKSSB Notification 12 of 2025: Detailed Analysis and Complete Information

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released Advertisement Notification No. 12 of 2025 dated 24 December 2025, inviting online applications for the recruitment of Constable (Executive) posts in the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Home Department. Total Vacancies Announced

  • Jammu Division: 934 posts
  • Kashmir Division: 881 posts

The posts fall under Pay Level-2 (₹19,900 – ₹63,200) as per the 7th Pay Commission .

Eligibility Criteria

Domicile :
Applicants must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and must possess a valid domicile certificate on or before the cut-off date.

Educational Qualification:
The minimum required qualification for Constable (Executive) posts is Matriculation (10th pass) from a recognized board.

Age Limit (as on 01-01-2025):

  • General/Open Merit & most reserved categories: 18 to 28 years
  • In-Service Police Personnel: Up to 30 years
  • SPOs & Volunteer Home Guards: Up to 40 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation as per service rules

Reservation Policy

Reservation is applicable as per the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Act and Rules, including vertical and horizontal reservations. Horizontal reservation includes:

  • 15% for Women candidates
  • 15% for SPOs
  • 4% for Volunteer Home Guards
  • Reservation for Ex-Servicemen as per rules

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are not eligible for these posts .

  • SC / ST / EWS: ₹600

The fee must be paid online only and is non-refundable.

Selection Process

The selection process under JKSSB Notification 12 of 2025 consists of multiple stages:

  1. Written Examination
    • Objective-type MCQs
    • Negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer
    • NCC certificate holders are eligible for bonus marks
  2. Physical Standard Test (PST) – Qualifying
    • Height and chest standards for males
    • Height standards for females (with relaxations for specific communities)
  3. Physical Endurance Test (PET) – Qualifying
    • Running, push-ups, and shot-put tests
    • Relaxed standards for Ex-Servicemen based on age
  4. Medical Examination & Document Verification

    • Chest: 32” (unexpanded), 33½” (expanded)
  • Female Candidates:
    • Height: 5’2”

Special relaxations are available for Gorkha Community and Bot Tribe candidates .

Exam Date and Admit Card

The written examination date and examination centers will be notified separately on the official JKSSB website. Admit cards will be available for download approximately one week before the exam.
