New Delhi: NHPC has approved investment to develop the 260 MW Durhasti Phase II Hydro Electric Power Project (HEP) in Jammu and Kashmir. The project received environmental clearance in January this year. It is likely to cost around Rs 3,200 crore and may take 44 months to complete.Minister of State for Power Shripad Naik said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha on Monday that the NHPC Ltd board had approved investment in the project in February. The minister said private land is being acquired for the project in accordance with the law.
