Emir Balat, 18, and Ibrahim Kayumi, 19, both from Pennsylvania, were arrested in connection with the incident. However, they have not yet been charged.

“The NYPD is conducting this investigation with our partners in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and the FBI through our Joint Terrorism Task Force,” Tisch said. “I want to once again thank the brave NYPD members who ran toward danger without hesitation and quickly apprehended the suspect.”
