“When we decided to run for vice president, I said, ‘Honey, I really want a fourth child.’ She said, ‘Well, you can be vice president, or you can have a fourth child.'”
He continued: “But ladies and gentlemen, I’m very persuasive because I got both!” prompting awkward laughter from the crowd.

His remarks caused an uproar on social media, with many netizens quick to criticize him for “persuasion is coercion.”
“Usha, what is life like in The Handmaid’s Tale?” said another.
“Ugh. He’s getting more and more unlikable every day. So disgusting,” a third user commented, while a fourth said, “He’s just so cringeworthy.”

JD Vance and Usha Vance announce pregnancy
Jingdonghe Usha Vance Earlier this year, they revealed on Instagram that they were expecting another child. “We are so excited to share the news that Usha is pregnant with our fourth child, a boy. Usha and the baby are doing well and we are all looking forward to welcoming him at the end of July,” they said in a post.
“During this exciting and busy time, we are especially grateful to the military doctors for taking such wonderful care of our families and to the staff for their incredible efforts to ensure that we can serve our country and enjoy life with our children.”
The news comes after months of ongoing divorce speculation, which began when Usha was spotted without her wedding ring. Both JD and Usha have since refuted the speculation. The couple has three young children: Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt announced on December 26 that she and her 60-year-old husband were expecting a baby. Katie Miller, podcaster and wife of White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, also recently announced her pregnancy.
