Jal Shakti minister reviews progress of UP village water supply projects; directs officials to finalize arrangements by summer

this uttar pradesh The government has directed officials to start early preparations under the National Rural Drinking Water Scheme at Jal Jeevan Mission and Rural Water Supply Headquarters to prevent shortage of drinking water in villages ahead of summer. Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh reviewed the progress of the project on Monday.During the review, Singh directed officials to make all necessary arrangements in advance and directed engineers to speak to at least ten village elders on a daily basis to monitor the status of the drinking water scheme and resolve any issues. He also directed engineers to regularly inform public representatives on the progress of water supply projects. The minister further reviewed the road repair work, stressing that all roads dug for pipeline installation should be fully repaired by the end of March. Senior officials are asked to conduct on-site inspections and any negligence on the part of the implementing agencies will be dealt with seriously. Singh also pointed out that the drinking water problem in Bundelkhand and Vindhia villages has been basically solved.Namami Gange and Anurag Srivastava, Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Water Supply Department, were present at the review.
