West allegedly got into an argument On March 5, the incident on the school bus escalated into a physical altercation near her home. The Mason Creek Middle School student was dropped off near her home. Cell phone video appears to show her arguing with another group of children.

West then started fighting with another girl. West appeared to take a hard fall, and then she began to lose consciousness.

West was transferred from Tanner Medical Center to Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital, where he died. Her family is currently awaiting autopsy results.

West died the next day of heart failure. Villa Rica police are reviewing cellphone video of the incident to determine if charges are warranted.

Jada West’s aunt speaks out

McClendon said in an article Facebook post The school “failed” her sister’s children and she was never “in trouble or in a fight but stood her ground during bullying”.

McClendon also said in the post that “the incident started at school” and that they called West’s mother to tell her “it started at school but they got on the bus and an argument ensued on the bus.” However, the Douglas County School System later said in a statement that the incident did not occur on school property and therefore the matter would be under the jurisdiction of the Villa Rica Police Department, Atlanta’s Fox 5 reported.

“This incident did not occur on school property or during school hours, and there is no indication that it was related to any campus activity. Therefore, the matter falls within the jurisdiction of the Villa Rica Police Department,” the statement read.

McClendon recalls West in another game Emotional Facebook Postwrote, “My baby my baby. I love you so much Jada. Justice will be served. I can’t believe I’m writing this Jada you are beautiful and you are different from a lot of kids who don’t understand that you always had your crown. But now you get your spiritual crown and it hurts you so much but I know you are good and I have to learn how to be okay. But Jada, this hurts aunty and aunty loves you so much. We love you and justice will be served and I promise you that.”
