New Delhi: Anaya Bangar recently opened up about gender confirmation surgery in Thailand and the emotional journey behind it. Anaya shared a heartfelt post accompanied by photos from the hospital, highlighting how difficult this process is for everyone around her, while also revealing her father’s condition Sanjay Bangarrole throughout this period. “This journey has not been easy…not just for me but for my family,” Anaya wrote in an Instagram post, making it clear that everyone was going through an adjustment period.
Over time, the family came to terms with the transition, going through stages of “confusion, questions and growth,” Anaya said. What stood out most to Ananya was the presence of Father Sanjay at such a critical moment. “Having my father by my side during one of the most important moments of my life meant everything,” Anaya said. While his support wasn’t immediate, Anaya described it as becoming “real, unconditional and powerful.” Anaya summed up the experience by saying, “Growth takes time. Love takes time. But when it comes, it’s all worth it,” suggesting that patience played a key role in strengthening their bond.Before the transition, Anaya was called an Aryan and followed a path cricketplaying at competitive level, representing Mumbai in Under-16 cricket, Pondicherry in Under-19 matches and even participating in the Mumbai Under-23 trials.Looking back on her childhood, Anaya shared that it always felt different. “When I was eight or nine years old, I used to sneak into my mother’s room, put on her clothes, look in the mirror and say I was a girl,” Anaya recalled earlier, suggesting that the journey of self-identity began very early.
