Relatives of the Iranian leader, 47-year-old Hamid Soleimani Afshar (left) and her 25-year-old daughter Sarina Sadat Husseini have been living a lavish life in the United States.
Halasious Bradford, a 50-year-old piano instructor who rents a one-story property owned by the niece of Iranian leader Qasem Soleimani, described the dramatic scene that unfolded when ICE arrested the mother and daughter on Friday. Bradford said the ICE arrests didn’t happen out of the blue because agents are active on the streets. Agents arrested Hamideh Soleimani Afshar, 47, and her daughter Sarinasadat Hosseiny, 25, around 5 p.m. Friday and revoked their green cards over their ties to the Iranian regime. Afshar celebrated attacks on U.S. soldiers and military installations, praised Iran’s supreme leader, called the United States the “Great Satan” and expressed support for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, a designated terrorist organization, according to the State Department.Bradford said he was driving home during the raid and found the street blocked off by ICE vehicles and three LAPD patrol cars. He did not see the women being taken away, but said it was the first time he had met Husseini in person. He said the two women were at the property for a scheduled inspection of the ADU by the City of Los Angeles, which explains why they were present when ICE arrived.Husseini’s boyfriend was also present during the raid, the New York Post reported. He told Bradford that he and Husseini were driving outside the house when ICE intercepted them, demanding to know where Afshar was.Bradford said the home was listed for rent on Zillow and he and Husseini signed the lease online because her mother, Afshar, doesn’t speak English well.
When did Afshar and Husseini enter the United States?
Afshar entered the United States on a tourist visa in 2015, received asylum in 2019, and became a green card holder in 2021. Her daughter arrived in the United States on a student visa in 2021 and received a green card in 2023. Afshar purchased the property in 2021 for $505,000, The Washington Post reported. She lives in a small ADU (accessory dwelling unit) behind the main property she rents in Bradford. She has a selfie ring light and a full-body mannequin in her home. She also owns a black Tesla filled with luxury goods including Dior bags, Hermès cushions, Sephora makeup bags and more. Sarin Sadat Hosseini’s Instagram account documents her lavish lifestyle, such as visits to nightclubs in Miami, trips to Alaska, and festivities in Las Vegas. But it has since been deleted.“Until recently, Hamid Soleimani Afshar and her daughter were green card holders living a life of luxury in the United States. Afshar is the niece of the late Iranian Maj. Gen. Qasem Soleimani. She was also an outspoken supporter of the Iranian regime, celebrating attacks on Americans and calling our country the “Great Satan.” This week, I terminated the legal status of Afshar and her daughter, who are now in ICE custody pending removal from the U.S. The Trump Administration will not allow our country to become home to foreigners who support an anti-American terror regime,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio posted yesterday.
