witness account
Several witnesses reported what happened at the airport on social media.
“This is a bomb threat,” one person wrote on Facebook. “I just arrived in Kansas about 30 minutes ago and we are sitting on a plane away from the airport.”
Another reported, “Yeah I’m here now. There are police everywhere and people walking and can’t get my passenger out of the car.”
A third added, “I work at a hotel nearby and a guest just came in and said they weren’t letting anyone into the airport. We’re just trying to find out why. This is crazy.”
Another wrote: “Wow, I just found out about this as I was checking out of the hotel and heading to the airport. I spoke to a colleague who was at the airport and in the midst of all the chaos. Got back to the hotel and got my room. Assuming all goes well, I’m waiting for a call back from the travel agent to rebook my flight for tomorrow. It’s nice to be on the good side of a bad situation. Another reason I hate air travel!”
Authorities have not confirmed that the incident involved a bomb threat. This claim originates from eyewitness accounts circulating on social media and has not been independently verified by HT.com.
