Iran’s judiciary said it hanged a man convicted of links to the Mossad on Wednesday, the latest in a series of executions amid a war with Israel and the United States, AFP reported. The judiciary’s Mizan Online identified the man as Mehdi Farid and said he was executed on charges of “corruption on earth” for “intelligence cooperation and espionage for the Zionist regime.”Mizan Online said: “Mehdi Farid… was hanged this morning for his extensive cooperation with the terrorist spy agency Mossad after the case was reviewed and the final verdict was approved.”The report said Farid held a position in the Civil Defense Force within a sensitive organization and used his authority to collect information and pass it to Mossad. The Supreme People’s Court upheld his death sentence and executed it after completing legal procedures. It’s unclear when he was arrested or when his trial will take place.Iran has carried out a number of executions in recent weeks involving people linked to the January protests, which Tehran claims were instigated by Israel, the United States and opposition groups, including the banned People’s Mujahideen.
