As a resident of Colorado Springs, coloradoreports of smoke and poor air quality Tuesday afternoon, which the Colorado Springs Fire Department addressed in a post on X.

The department stated The Aspen Acres wildfire burning along the Colorado-Utah border has now spread and is approaching Colorado Springs. The department said smoke from the fires is now moving into the city and that the fires are not new in Colorado Springs.
“Smoke from the Aspen Acres Fire south of Colorado Springs is moving into the city. You may smell and see heavy smoke,” the department said.
“We have received numerous calls reporting this matter to the 911 dispatch center. If you are simply calling to report visible smoke, you do not need to call 911. Our crews are aware of the fire and emergency resources are actively engaged.”
