Alexander gained attention for asking key questions of President Donald Trump, which inexplicably sparked a backlash. For example, during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, Alexander asked Trump, who was serving his first term in the Oval Office at the time, “What do you say to the American people who are looking at you right now and are scared?” Trump shot back: “I said you’re a terrible reporter!”
