Interviewed by Parade after retirement FBI Special Agent Jason Parker said when a case goes unsolved for a long time, many people tend to label it a “cold case.” However, he claimed Guthrie’s case had simply become “quiet” and represented a “very different” situation.

Parker stressed that investigators are still actively involved, pursuing leads and even waiting for the opportunity for someone to “make a mistake” or “make a candid decision.”

“For four months, investigators were doing two things at once. They would go back to the starting point with fresh eyes and reexamine every piece of evidence, every interview, every clue that seemed trivial in the first few weeks,” he added.

Parker also said investigators are carefully monitoring every detail because the suspect may “begin to break down” and eventually surrender.

“They’re watching. Watching finances, watching communications, watching behavior. Because four months is a long time to keep a secret secret, and people start to break down,” he told Parade. “They make calls they shouldn’t make. They spend money they can’t explain. They act nervous when they have no reason to be nervous.”

Parker further speculated that any knowledge of Guthrie’s It is said that the kidnappers may have been experiencing sleepless nights at this time.

“The $1 million award is still there, and that pressure doesn’t expire. It intensifies,” he said. “Someone knows something, and the weight of that stuff is getting heavier every day.”

Nancy’s three children—Savannah, her brother Cameron Guthrieand sister Annie Guthrie – making heartfelt pleas to anyone who may be responsible for her disappearance to bring her back.

“We will never stop looking for you. We will never be at peace until we find you,” Savannah said in a Mother’s Day post on Instagram.

The FBI has announced a $100,000 reward for any information leading to Nancy’s return or arrest related to the case. Additionally, a $1 million reward is being offered to Savannah and her family.
