In 2024, David shared a message about cancer on social media. It has been linked to patients with a type of breast cancer called ductal carcinoma in situ, which is typically a non-invasive form of breast cancer caused by microcalcifications.

This is my wife Jenny. She is my rock. She is the best part of my day. Some of you have met her. When I’m at the track, people always ask “Did your wife come with you?” When she doesn’t, they’re disappointed because it’s just me. Trust me, I get it.
