According to Rolling Out, the two airports experienced a total of 62 delays and 29 cancellations. Cancun was hardest hit, with 40 flights delayed and 23 canceled, while Mexico City reported 22 flight delays and six cancellations.
The disruption occurred during one of the busiest travel times of the year, creating a ripple effect international touristsbusiness travelers and domestic commuters.
Major airlines affected
Several airlines operating domestic and international routes were affected. Rolling Out reported that Aeromexico experienced three flight cancellations and 10 delays. American Airlines had one flight cancellation and two delays, while Volaris had six delays. Avianca and Delta Air Lines also reported flight delays.

Passengers at both airports reported long lines, long waits and confusion as airlines work to restructure flight schedules.
