Iran claimed on Tuesday it had shot down a U.S. MQ-9 drone flying over its territory and shared a video of it.“Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps naval air defense force shot down a US-made MQ-9 drone on Qeshm Island last night,” state media Press TV said in a video shared on social media. The 2 minute and 58 second clip shows a drone being hit, crashing and bursting into flames.Earlier last week, Iran claimed to have shot down two MQ-9 drones and shared a video of the time. The long-range drone was “intercepted and destroyed” by an advanced system that forms part of Iran’s integrated air defense network, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said in a statement. Local Iranian media shared a video claiming the attack, saying: “Two MQ-9 drones collided and exploded over Isfahan last night.Meanwhile, conflicts in the region have escalated, with the United States and Israel attacking multiple Iranian locations, including the strategically important Khag Island and several key bridges. The United States and Israel launched an attack on a railway bridge in the central Iranian city of Kashan on Tuesday, killing two people and wounding three others, local authorities said. The attack hit the Yahya Abad railway bridge, a vital infrastructure in the area. Agence France-Presse quoted a senior security official in Isfahan province as confirming the incident in a statement carried by the Islamic Republic News Agency. “A few minutes ago, American Zionist invaders attacked the Yahya Abad railway bridge in the city of Kashan,” Akbar Salehi said. “Two people were killed and three injured in this attack,” he added.
