US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is under attack on social media after a video showed her referring to World War II as “World War 11.” However, fact-checkers found no verified transcript or full video substantiating the claim. Some reports suggest the clip was misheard, edited or taken out of context.

In the 13-second clip, Omar appears to say: “The last time the Enemy Alien Act was invoked… it was used to detain and deport German, Japanese, Italian immigrants during World War 11,” before quickly correcting herself and saying, “Twice, sorry.”
